I was fishing at canoe brook lake in Trumbull and happened to have one of my salt water rods in the car. So I snagged a little pumpkin seed and threw it out on a 2oz. after about ten min. of it flapping around on the bottom something ran pretty hard on it didn't get the hook set but 'm thinking it was either a big largemouth ar a nice sized catfish

Thats awesome, I live right down off Madison Ave. Like 5 minutes from Canoe Brook, it always looks like noone is ever fishing their, very unpressured, I'm assuming you have to be accompanied by someone with lake rights while fishing or no?
I would pay your boy 20 bucks just to park by his house and walk my kayak in everytime. PLace just looks like a honeyhole.

I will talk to my boy, i don't think any payment would be needed, the people there are so used to seeing me fishing there, either in my boys canoe or from shore, that I am pretty sure the people at the lake think I live there.

There are some nice bass in there though, I've pulled multiple 5+ pounders and one that had to be pushing 9 or 10, big catfish too, not to mention perch, pickeral, trout, and the occational gator (just like in twin brooke)

Def, talk to him but let him know I am willing to pay cuz it's just so convenient for me to fish so close to home. By the way what do you mean by gator bro, i'm pumped. Talk to him and let me know, I'm a young guy(28 yrs old), very easy going, I'll even pay in brewski's if he likes.

Dude that's nuts, Somebody must have had them as pets and let them loose.
Twin Brooks, now that I think about it I was there one day two summers ago and I saw a huge splash in the water as if a fish had got spooked. But this splash was big like either a huge catfish or extrememly large bass, And when I think about it, it very well could have been a small 3 ft, gator.
Dammmmmmnn, son.

And thanks for checking with your boy, much appreciated.

Frank
