Hello!

I'm on winter break from school, and I'd like to give Ice Fishing a try. Anyone know of any good outfitters or other ways to learn the sport? Ideally, I'd like to spend as little as possible but I still would like to have a good experience

Any help you have is greatly appreciated

Thanks
Marc

ice fishing is expensive like anything else, tipups, bait, auger, liscence, food, and beers, good luck not spending money fishing gets more expensive every year

Hi filbert!

windflag isn't being very helpful with a rather negative post Exclamation

I like to help newcomers to the sport -> So here are some suggestions.

If you search the internet you'll find tons of inexpensive gear.

I suggest you go to your nearest Walmart -> decent Tip-ups (2) for the price and a jigging rod, 5 gallon bucket at Home Depot to carry your gear. (They also carry bucket covers that you can sit on).
Hand Auger will be the most expensive.
Get ice jigs at your local tackle shop and get their suggestions, they will always be helpful to a newbie Exclamation -> Get medium size to small size jigs.

Start off slow then add on as need be!
PM me if you need more help Exclamation

Best regards,
