FloatNfly (also called "float & fly",.."FNF",.."floating a fly" etc..)
Is a technique for catching bass (and other fish..) in extremely cold water! It is for water that is 40 degrees give or take a little and I am convinced that you can catch fish on this, in those conditions when almost no other artificial will work!
Basically you suspend a very lightly weighted hair or feather jig(the "fly"),..about 10 feet beneath a small (special) bobber. The bobber is weighted on one side so that it lays on it's side until the weight of the jig pulls it upright. This is essential because sometimes a bass will come up on the bait rather than pulling it down. The special bobber will roll over on it's side when this happens so that you can see those bites!

I will post a link to the website of a tackle shop down in Tennessee that specializes in this kind of stuff, but it's down right now,..so you will have to wait on it! They have some articles that will give you all the how-to info!
