normally skip the crowds on opining day and stay in. I don't really like to fish for trout, but I was glad I did.
A friend invited me to go for some trout near the Mansfield area. I am not even sure the name of the area we were in. I took him up on the offer and had to dig through some gear to see if I even had any trout lures. I then remembered I tried to sell them at the CTF swap meet. I took out a few rooster tails and I was on my way at 4:00am.. Here is the result. A guy caught one a little smaller than this one earlyer in the morning and it bottomed out a 8 lb scale. We figured this had to be 9-10 lbs.
I released it to many comments of "your crazy".

wow, congrats. Is that a rainbow trout? If i didn't know better I would have guess it to be a salmon.
Hell of a fish and glad you let her go to swim another day. I wonder how old she/he is?

Nice bow! You must have been all smiles. Not crazy for releasing him, I would have done the same but I'm not sure i woudl have landed him with my 4wt.
