				| After having no luck at one of my small ponds Monday afternoon, I hit a private residential pond that I have permission to fish.
Lost a nice largemouth with a 7cm firetiger Rapala Original Floater. Moved around the access area but didn't get into anything else with the Original Floater.

I then decided to go deeper with a 4cm silver shad Rapala Jointed Shad Rap. Once I got back to the area where I lost the largemouth, I was into yellow perch like crazy! Those yellows must have been stacked up thick and heavy!

Slow retrieve with the rod tip up was the trick for the lure and on just about every cast, I'd either get a few bumps or a fish on. Total was 15 yellows from 7" to 9" with a few 9"ers close to a pound. 2 of the bigger perch took the entire rear half of the Jointed Shad Rap in its mouth.

Seeing how well I was doing, I decided to play around with a few other similar lures but didn't get a single hit. The Jointed Shad Rap must have been getting in the zone and has the perfect swimming action for when many other lures don't work.

Missed out on 1 other bass, but all in all, I had a good time with the yellows.
