FYI -
like a read receipt, A message isn't moved from Outbox to Sentbox until the recipient has read it.

So when I send a PM,..it goes first to the outbox,..then once it's read, it appears in the sent-box,..

or is it vice versa?

And what does the orange flag at the edge mean in that case?

yes, it will sit in your outbox till it is read... it is also orange... i think that is just another indicator as not being read... once it is read, it will end up in your sent items...
