I went showshoeing at Quaddick Lake in Thompson on Saturday with my girlfriend. I brought a cordless drill along to check the ice thickness as we ‘shoed along. I found between 4 and 5 inches of ice everywhere I checked. This was at the north end of the lake, north of Baker Rd. There were a few slushy looking areas which we avoided, might have just been wet snow over thick ice though as there isn’t much current (other than near the bridge). Hopefully the warm weather and rain don’t completely ruin the ice!

If anyone here is planning to fish Quaddick or anywhere in the northeast corner I’d love to join you, or perhaps stop by when you’re done to use your holes. I don’t own an auger, and I’d kind of like to give ice fishing a try at least once before I spend a bunch of money on equipment.
