I had the afternoon off and it was too windy on the Sound,..so I decided to do a freshwater gear shakedown cruise at Rogers lake! I haven't been there in 5 or 6 years,..so the first thing I have to say is that the water is really low and anyone in a Hobie is going to have a pretty long paddle before they get to somewhere deep enough to use their rudder and mirage drive!! Rolling Eyes
As far as the fishing goes,..I was expecting a tough day following last night's full moon and clear skies...and that is pretty much what I got! I fished for 2-3 hours and managed 3 small bass on a dropshot worm. Everything was on the outside weed line in 10-15 FOW and each bass came from a different spot on the lake. I only fished deep water because It was the middle of the afternoon under bluebird skies,...if we have some weather moving through on Sunday, the shallow bite might be where it's at!! For anyone not familiar with Rogers,..there are also plenty of lily pads all around the lake that can hold fish. Cool

It's drawn down to work on the dam, that's why it's so low

saw that online. oh well if it's low ill paddle if i have to for a while
if i have 12 inches ill just short stroke pedal.
My rudder folds up in low water anyway.

when i hit deep water it's hello motor!
I will adjust to conditions.Paddle/pedal or motor!

I planned to paddle and not pedal, anyway. Thanks for the report, Mark.

Hey, Brian! I've been too busy or tired to write fishing reports, lately. After the Rogers tourney on Sunday, I fished Congamond on Monday and the Connecticut from Haddam Meadows to the south end of Selden Neck State Park, today. Quite frankly, I don't have much to report, anyway. Confused Well, except that it's harvest time for wild rice in Connecticut. Very Happy
