Didnt know where to post this but im just wondering if anyone knows the actually species name for the the common shiners most people buy here. I know there are different kind but I mean the smaller ones that have an olive green to brown black with a bluish purple hue in the mid section and silver bellies. Usually get them here around eastern ct and theyre medium to smalls.

Theres blueback herring, alewifes, emerald shiners, lots of different bait shops buy different things. The ones i get look like spotfin shiners but im not too sure about the exact name of them.
