I love this thread. Glad to see everyone having a good time with it.

Kira- how big was that one in the pic?

After that hour-long battle, I didn't have the strength left to get out my measuring tape. It was somewhere around 3" though.

Ditto DD!

Here's a massive brookie caught on a 2" floating rapala. I have caught much smaller on a 1 3/4" rebel.

You guys are amateurs. Razz I caught this four inch largemouth bass while jigging through the ice at Beseck Lake last February:

I didn't even realize that I had hooked a fish. It was probably on there for a few minutes before I pulled it up.

My girlfriend caught a ~3” long shiner on a 1/4 oz. phoebe spoon this weekend… probably the smallest fish I’ve ever seen caught on an artificial lure. She’s caught some yellow perch that were almost as small though.

I'll bet that you were glad you had your net with you for that one, Tim. Did you REALLY feel like you had to net it? Surprised

Seriously though, the only kayak fisherman I know who regularly puts a net in his boat is Daryl (aka Daryl). I thought that he was being a little silly, because kayaks are space challenged and I've always managed just fine without one. However, I've seen the net in action a couple of times this year and just might pick one up myself. When Fishface (aka Tim) hooked a big snapping turtle at Winchester Lake, Daryl saved the day with his net and we were able to release the turtle without leaving the hook in its mouth. And yesterday, mep21 (Mark), who was inspired by Daryl to pick up a net recently, used his net to insure that he didn't lose his Personal Best largemouth bass at the boat.
