1-The day we had to push my 20ft skeeter over 50 yards cause we waited the tide out and lost....
2-Winning our first CT outdoors tourneament on the river..
3-Justin saying to me ,"what are you going to do with that lure" while laughing and then using said lure to win tons of money over the years...
4-running south on the river and running out of time to get back to haddam with a huge bag of fish and then the hot foot spring lets go....justin proceed to "mcguyver it" with a hook and we make it back with 30 seconds to spare and win the tournament....
5-Arriving at a tournament and having numerous teams come over and something like,"oh great you guys are here"....
Last one...in wethersfield cove..the birthplace of "the phoenix"
What a fun ride it was...
Oh ya one more...fishing with mark last month in a CT outdoors on the river...we head to a spot and my trim is "auto trimming down" and i say dammit look at this...mark then proceeds to realize he lost a $300 plus combo due to not strapping down rods when johnny is driving on the river in a tournament.

It must be cool to have good times to look back on. Many more to come im sure.

Helium 2's are a little more then that johnny. And I know mark roles with only higher end shimano reels- a 200 dollar-/+ reel and a 300-380 dollar helium.

Johnny, can you expand on the Phoenix deal? I've seen it mentioned many times and only as an inside thing. I believe it has to do with Justin and seeing as he is moving in a different direction, maybe a little tribute to the rising of? Thanks MarkO

lol oh yes. the phoenix. Johnny and I had good times. Successful times. Johnny and I had found a spot ont he river two days before the tournament. It was down in the old lyme area of the river. This little spot had tons of fish in it and we just knew the tournament was over. Johnny said the night before the tournament....."And on the fateful day, the water was calm and from ashes rose the Phoenix...." lol we were busting at the seams. We had a phoenoix picture we put in the boat for luck and as long as we had that picture there, we won. When the picture wore out, the run was over. It was cool and funny as hell.

I know, it's just hard to swallow, it doesn't seem right. But you have to follow your heart. I know we'll keep in touch, I'll be waiting for my invite next season. LOL Laughing Laughing

I'm surprised you won't be calling your new vessel the " Pheonix II ".................

Why do you always have to bring "brokeback fishing" into this?

I heard it's always a "short" conversation though!!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked
