Wednesday afternoon once the rain was almost gone, I hit the road and headed to Seaside, arriving around 4. Winds were a gusty northwest as clouds diminished and temps kept dropping. Local buoy went back into service Tuesday and water had warmed up quite significantly, with temps ranging from 64 to 64.8 while I fished.

When I got to Breezy Point, a buddy was there and said small tailors were hitting topwater, but I was late. He and I kept casting but he only got 2 explosions.

The buddy and I checked out the beach. There was lots of bait and water was nice, but no action.

After the beach we headed back over to Breezy Point but niente.

Once it was getting closer to 7, I decided to start heading over to Remington and end the night there.

I waded out onto the sandbar as tide kept going out. Sunset was scheduled for 8:24 and low tide was scheduled for 8:54, which had me hoping for a sunset bite. As sunset got closer, the small tailors turned on. A buddy landed 5 on a pencil popper as he also lost a few and had many explosions. I had fewer explosions as I threw a number of lures. Lost 2 small tailors and landed a 24" 4 pound schoolie. The schoolie striper made a huge explosion, easily setting the hook. Lure was an olive/white Salty Bugger bottle neck.

The bite eventually shut down once there was no sunlight. Hit the road around 9:30.
