				| launched from Great Island ramp at 7pm or so. headed straight for Cornfield where there were shad jumping. not as crazy as the last time i was there. landed a small blue and a shad with Kastmasters. lost a bunch. we went to Hens and Chickens around dark and chunked the shad and the blue. There wasn't a lot happening there. We had a few takes and landed a giant dogfish just under 4ft long. is there a better way to catch these shad in the open ocean?? i don't have much experience with them. |

				| I've never encountered hickory shad in open water but used to catch a lot of them in the CT river. I used red and white shad darts, small spinners and small jigs. I found them to be aggressive when feeding and you can catch a bunch in a short time. |
