Low tide for Sniffens Point was scheduled for 3:09pm Friday afternoon and decided to hit Short Beach, esp with the southerly flow.

Arrived just after 1pm and fished til just after dead low.

Lures I threw included purpledescent BXM-10, shiner SSR-9, and firetiger FLR-10. Stuck with the SSR-9 most of the time due to how well I've been doing with it.

There were 2 guys casting together and 2 others fly fishing.

I never got a single hit, swirl, or follower except for a slight bump as if I hit the side or back of a fish.

The only catches I saw were 1 fly fisherman landing a keeper and 2 other mid 20s just before dead low.

Looks like it's been more of an evening bite, which means I'd have to wait a few more days before there's a good low tide.

It is a night bite was insane in that general area before the north west blow. Probably dropped the biggest fish of my life (from the surf).

Yeah, that evening with that north west wind seemed to quiet things down cause as I said in the first report, I saw a group of fly fishermen on the Milford side having a field day the day before. Then they were back the next day when there were those north west winds but they caught less than 1/4 of what they caught the previous day.

Yeah I didn't fish after that night until Saturday and did pretty well right before dark. Biggest was twenty eight inches. Got to get back out at night with a dropping or low tide and throw plugs after this weather breaks

Friday and Saturday will be good low tides.

And yeah, I've been waiting and waiting for those stripers to be in my area. Last year at this time water temps had already hit 50 and I was hitting them at Remington.
