Me and my daughter are going out Sunday to give it a try. I understand they are catching porgys and sea bass out at the race during slack tide. That's cool.

Wish us luck.

I have taken the Helcat out many times and I enjoy fishing from it. However I think you and your daughter may have a better time on the Blackhawk. The mates are more kid friendly in my opinion. The Capt likes putting the kids on video when they catch fish.

The mates and Captain know my daughter by name. lol she catches more than me. It's funny you say that about being kid friendly. That's the reason we go on the Helcat. From day one (4 years ago) I felt they looked out for her while we fished.

Wild bill,

Glad to here about your experience on the HelCat.
You need to go where you feel comfortable and where you will have a great time.
As I stated, I like fishing from both boats.

My daughter is 6 now and i hope to get her pout on one of the boats soon. I think I will try and take her on the Blackhawk first (during the week of course).

So how did you do on Sunday?
