Had a few hours to kill and really wanted to get out on the boat so I headed to Morey Pond for about an hour and half of fishing.

Scored 3 small pickerel and 4 average size bass and a nice once at the end about 3-4lbs (can't figure out how to post it in here) Not a bad day only a short time frame.

Only threw wacky (after all, if you catch 3 fish the first 3 casts then you don't change anything) using black and blue flake! KILLER!

Black with Blue Flake is my favorite color before the weeds grow in.

Did you happen to get the surface water temperature? The temperatures seem to be all over the map all over the state. I got 63 degrees last Saturday at Mashapaug, and Wanna Fish (aka Carl) got 58 to 60 degrees yesterday in Danbury Bay at Candlewood.

Sadly I did not get a temp. But I've been to mashapaug twice already this year and got skunked. I'll have to pick up a temp gage this week before I head out again Tuesday and Wednesday.

I use an instant-read digital cooking thermometer. Here's my reading from Mashapaug:
