Where does one park if there's "NO PARKING" signs all over the place? Is anyone here allowed to have me on their boat?

Kira - You'd be welcome on my boat. . . if I had one! Crying or Very sad I might show up, but I'd be moving very slowly around the lake.

Oh, and there is a parking area at the launch.

I thought I read in one of Phil's posts that there were new signs along that side, but I guess they're the same ones (closest to the water) that were present when I went. If that entire paved area was off limits to parking that would truly suck.

If the wind forecast is reasonable, I'll be there just to outpike BS. Would prefer to be a guest on someone else's boat though...someone with a net and grippers. Anyone? I'm decent company, I PROMISE!

I'm free on Sunday but that is a big ass lake to be paddling around. I would like to check out the lower half of Bantam River and maybe fish a little of the Lake near the mouth. Hmmmmm??

The White Memorial Conservation Center has a boat launch ramp off of North Shore Road, just to the west of Folly Point:

It wouldn't be much of a paddle from there to the mouth of the Bantam River. I'll check it out.

If that doesn't work we could always launch at the river and head over the dam. Let me know if you come up with anything.

We could also launch from Sandy Beach, which is on the south end of the North Bay:

The website says there's an "Admission Fee" of "$10 per car or boat - weekends", but I'm not sure what that means. Is it worth $10 to avoid a long paddle? I'm not sure that I couldn't use the workout.

How about this Idea - I'll bring a long rope and everybody can tie up to it. We can make a train and I'll pull you guys around the lake! Laughing
I have caught most of my pike from that large weed bed right next to the main ramp. It was a few years ago, though and I haven't fished much at the other end where the rivers enter and exit.

Dawg's problem is that his inflatable kayak paddles like, well, an inflatable kayak. Like I've said before, I'm slow, but he's slower. I'm not too bad on my Hobie, though. I think I could handle Bantam Lake just fine.

Colds are spread through viruses. So you're right...I wouldn't catch a cold there, but (as always) it's because no one would show up to infect me.
