I have an Evinrude 48 HP on my Sea Nymph which dosn't quite work for trolling. My Bow Mounted trolling motor will work but I would really rather use the motor. I have toyed with the idea of putting a kicker as I have a 5.5 evinrude fisher,a that might fit the bill but that is option I am leaving as last resort. I have thought about using a trolling plate such as "The Happy Troller"

Has anyone had experience using this or similiar item. Any feedback would be helpful!

Are you having trouble getting the boat slow enough in that 1-2 mph zone? Why not try a drift sock. toss it over the opposite side you run your DR or diver on and that should slow you down substantially.
