I have found out that there is a state boat launch in Branford. It's on the Branford river. Has anyone used this ramp; can you tell me what to look for as far as hazzards and is the channel marked well. I have heard this leads out to the thimble islands. Any info would be appreciated. thanks cmorjoe

The channel is marked pretty well. The ramp is a bit suspect at low tide but you should be alright. My advice to you is this, if you have never fished branford before get yourself a chart and STUDY IT that area is one giant rock. This is not an area you can just go zipping around in. There have been countless boat vs. rock encounters there over the years. Good Luck!!!
