Well after reading all the small pond reports I decided to pickup a jon boat and use that for the small ponds and carry in locations.
I went to Wethersfield Res (5 miles up the road from my house) this past Saturday with my son and the wind was blowing well but not to bad.
What a difference fishing from the jon boat compared to the Skeeter.. Well we fished the north shoreline over by the tall grass and the pads.
I was using my new favorite creature bait and my son was throwing a tube. In the hour we spent there I caught a 3lb and a 2lb, my son caught a 1.5lb LMB.
It was fun, I think this will be my quick, easy, kill an hour or two location.

Stumpy,
My new favorite creature is the "Baby Fork Creature" Black with Red flake.
This thing works wonders.. I picked them up from TF and ever since then I've been getting 3-4lb LMB on it..

Ron.......What no pics?!! With your track record how do I know you even caught a fish let alone a 3lber.

That hurts.. I'm in a jon boat I didn't even bring the cell phone.
Don't be jealous that I'm catching fish and your not.. If I can remember correctly our last trip together I was the big dog and your were the puppy..

Ron,
Wake up from your dream.......even a blind squirrel will find a nut eventually! Hey, let me know when you want to go back water fishing again. I'll bring my jonboat too, maybe hit the shallow waters of Scoville again......and get my damn lure back! Or better yet try Quonnipaug where there is a motor hp restriction.

gotem, great baits. ill start throwing them now that i'll be targeting wood and rock. i found they didnt come through weeds all that well. i did well with them pre-spawn. junebugs my fav  |
