Smallies, hands down! Lunker largemouths are fun, but nothing beats the fight in a smallie!

it depends on where you are.....in CT i'd have to say largies because the opportunity to catch BIG smallies is only at 1 or 2 lakes in the state. Go north a little and I say smallies..nothing like Champlain, finger lakes, St. Lawrence, Erie for HUGE smallies!!!!!!!!!!! Not these CT runts, I'm taking 5-6 lb monsters on a fairly regular baiis!

i agree with chuck. you can't beat the fight of the smallies. but hooking into a BIG bass with heavy tackle is pretty darn comparable if you ask me.

smallies. but fighting that pike at pachaug last week and then watching him nosedive when he saw the boat was something else.

Honestly, I get the biggest kicks from largies on a jigNpig and/or Huddleson swimbaits.
As far as the "fight" goes,..smallies are definitely better than largies but then stripers are best of all.

But there's just something about the feeling I get when fishing a jigNpig in thick cover and then setting the hook HARD, on something that barely moves,....I just can't describe it!!
Likewise, whenever I get a fish to load onto a big swimbait, that big heavy rod bows over,..my heart starts pounding and i hear that theme-song from "Jaws" playing in my head,...
THAT's where it's at, as far as I'm concerned! Wink

I don't carry as long as it's big and it ends up in my boat!
