hey Seadog,

What is your opinion on wearing snowshoes on the ice? It obviously would make it quite a bit easier getting around, but I was thinking if someone were to fall through the ice while wearing snowshoes, any attempt to kick your legs would be thwarted in the event that you couldn't easily get them off. I just bought a new pair and am debating whether I should use them or not.

Snowshoes will help keep you from falling through by dispersing your weight over more ice. I'm thinking they would be a good thing.
