Doesn't help that I had to wade up river and not back down. Chumley is right, first time out I was in hip waders. Wasn't long before they were swamped and my legs were 1000lbs. Now I just wear felt wading boots and shorts and think about lamprey eels all day.

I think they prefer slower water and read they will only attack humans if straved..... but still for some reason the only thing I can think about when wearing shorts in the river is lamprey eels. You should see me when a stick floats by..

You don't handle bees too well either.
Here's a nice close up of a lamprey's mouth:

That is exactly what I want swimming up my shorts.. I'm really not worried about the eels, but I did infact retreat from a promising spot due to bee infestation. For someone who likes being outdoors, I really don't like the things that accompany me. Everyone I know can attest to my irrational fear of bees, bugs, bears and everything else not bass or trout that lives outside.

I live right there, pm next time you go out and I can meet you if you wish. With that water being so low right now you can almost walk across the entire river till the channel.
