BTW. The channel moved a little going into chapmans. The entrance is TIGHT to the left when your going in. Right up against the logs. Still 3-4fow on low tide. If you stay in the middle your asking to get sanded. The tougher part is making it into the back. The damn sand is start to pile up back there too. As of- december 9th or so.

I agree with all the lures already mentioned and would add

stripers:

Salt shakers by lunker city (pink or white mostly) on swimming jigheads

Smallies:

Panther martin inline spinners (size 6) in patterns with gold, black and yellow

Largemouth:

Brown and blue football head jigs with a craw body (power bait, gulp, ect..)

everyone else already said all the outer things that i use.

Since I don't go for schoolies, this is what I use for bass:

chug bug
frogs
sweet beavers (casting and flipping)
4-inch worms
crankbaits

I fish the river in NH/VT a lot too and there I like smallie beavers, chug bugs, tubes and flukes.

I don't know how the laws on live bait are here in CT. But if you can catch them, I use crayfish and leeches for smallmouth back home on the detroit river. They also worked very well in Oklahoma and Tennesse on smallies and large mouth. Also use silver or white twister tails.
