Hey Justin - Gary and I can't make it but we laid down a massive sack of smallies at the Hartford tournament today (USA Bassin). We won with 18.28 for five smallmouth and overall lunker @ 4.82. We were tossing back 3's much of the day.

wow nice job man. I miss those days Smile This time of year it was always between the four of us. You and gary with smallies or me and Johnny with a sack of largemouth. One of us was gonna have a winning 20lb bag Smile Nice work glad to see you kicked everyone's ass.. Are you guys gonna fish any of the CT Outdoors events on the River this year?? I think Johnny and I will give you guys another crack at taking our title Smile

Keep in touch! It was nice to see you around here again!

- T.

Dunno. We fish CT to mid NH & VT, six sections of river to cover! Plus Champlain, Hudson River, Winni, & other southern NH lakes for Northern Bass. Come North and join the party!

I guess I need to get my own boat. I've been working on my wife about it for a while. We were in Old Montreal for the weekend and took an hour-long Bateau Mouche cruise around the île Sainte-Hélène. While we were watching some private boats cruise around, she asked, "So, how much would you have to spend on a boat?" I said $15,000. She didn't respond. Actually, she didn't say anything or even indicate that she had heard me. But I'm still crossing my fingers, because at least she asked!

You are golden! All you have to do is find a boat that's closer to the 10K range. She may freak once she adds up what you'll be spending on fuel, registration, taxes, etc. Find something that's reliable and doesn't scream "I'm a bass boat!" (don't worry - you'll be eligible for an upgrade in a few years.) You need to act like it's the deal of the century and be convincing that you'd be a moron to pass up the offer. Play up the leisure/social/romantic aspect of it that's closest to her interest in the boat (even though she'll ultimately end up only seeing it on weekends if my plan comes to fruition.) Get it in the water as quickly as possible and make good on your promise. Take her to Harbor Park a few times and make sure it doesn't rain the first time. Make sure the seat isn't too comfortable. Once she begins cutting into your (my) fishing time, then you're gonna need to take her out when the forecast is awful and fake motor problems. She sounds open to the whole boat idea now - go in for the kill!

I am forever landlocked...married to the perfect man, ironically, one with motion sickness and no fondness whatsoever for the water. Allow me to live vicariously through you. I'm free to fish on the back of your boat weekdays/during storms.

Good luck! Very Happy
