Fished the CT River out of the Samlon River launch on Saturday afternoon. On the water around 12:30, fished until 4:15 or so. Hit all backwater areas. Mustered up 3 LM, 4 crappie and a pike between the two of us. Biggest LM was about 2.75 lbs and was my buddie's first open water fish of the season. A couple of the crappies were dinner plate size and the pike only about 22-24 inches. I'll take any action this time of year. All fish came on jerkbaits and downsized soft plastics.

It wasn't too bad. It was moving pretty good out on the main river, but it was pretty clean (not a lot of debris).

Every spring that area can produce some good size pike. Glad to see the water has calmed down, now if only the weather would cooperate.
