Well today was my first skunk.
got on the water at 7 and it was freezing. I was hoping to get some decent pike but just couldnt locate any.
by 11 i changed to bass. went towards the old powerplant outlet in east haddam. as i entered the cove, a pike swam by! go figure
needless to say i hooked one fish but wasnt able to land it. so my boat stunk of the first and hopefully last skunk.

its bound to happen to all of us.

I know that scene. We plan on going there next week. If not for bass then stripers in the salmon. We have one spot there where we lost one twice in two weeks. It's a tough place.

I think there's an unwritten law that you have to have at least 1 or 2 skunks a year...Just think, you've already gotten yours out of the way Laughing

I always remember one Bill Dance show where I got a real chuckle,...
At the end of the show he said, "I don't care who you are,...EVERYONE get's skunked some times,.......................................................unless you're Roland Martin!" Shocked Mr. Green Mr. Green
