This was all I caught that day, but it was my first ever red - decent size. I did not weigh (broken) or measure this guy, but my buddy estimated 27 inches, 8lbs. I caught it off the West Wall of the Port Charlotte Harbor, while wadding in the shallows up against the mangroves at high tide. The water was real warm - somewhere mid 70's. We were using baitfish - i forget their name - but they resemble herring. It was overcast - as you might be able to see.
This was my first time wading in saltwater - I usually never go saltwater fishing b/c I don't have anyone that goes - but it was a blast. Was skunked the second time I went out - my buddy caught a snook (good eating!) _________________ Hobie MirageRevolution Fishing Kayak

That's a nice fish. I wish the river was 70 right about now to do some wading in! _________________ Golf Bravo Romeo - Where there's always a crosswind, but nobody will tell you. |

nice fish...Snook is a great eating fish. _________________ Due to recent budget cuts and the rising cost of food, electricity, gas, and oil, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off. |
