All I can say about this stuff is WOW. I've been a stren blue kinda guy my entire life. I've tried braid, floro, all the crazy superlines like spiderwire and all the others, and the berkley line of mono, and I've always ended up back with the stren.

SO I picked up some suffix siege mono on the reccomendation of FishingKik to put on the new setup. I still stuck with 8 pound, and bought some stren too just in case I didn't like it much. But it's not a concern. I love this stuff!

Super low memory, even right out of the box. The strength is rediculous, I was tossing tubes in real rocky conditions yesterday and am sure that I would have lost more than the one I did using the stren 8 pound. I had no windknots that I sometimes get with the stren, and checking over the line after some pretty abusive behavior it seemed to be in perfect shape. it's super easy to tie knots with and lays very properly on the spool. The darkish color is almost completely invisible in the water, and like I said the stretch in the mono is perfect for popping lures out of rocks and off of submerged logs.

While it's a little early to say, if this stuff holds up durability wise as well as the stren does, I'm switching everything over to the suffix siege!

Update:

Some observations:

1)The very low line memory is actually causing a small problem. At the beginning of the retrieve, if I don't make sure the line is taut I get a loop on the spool that can become a pain in the ass. Quite easily solved though by being vigilant.

2)When tying knots with this stuff make sure to wet the line before tying the knot. I had a couple of breakoffs on stumps and rocks and such throwing tubes that were right at the knot. I had forgotten to drool on the line first. Once I did that problem solved.

3)Extensive rock action (as in tubes in the river) will skin the line up a bit, like any mono. I have found myself throwing out about the first foot of the line after every third outing. That's kept it in shape, but keep in mind, I'm being VERY abusive on it.

Overall it still gets : Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

remember its 8lb test mono gets "skinned" worn much easier then lets say 12lb test mono

siege is awesome no doubt, I was using 10lb test last year and loved it

Not to steal your thread but, has any one used any thing over 10lb test?
