Yes that is correct.
But keep in mind there is always a thermocline. I prefer to call it spot G or the happy spot. if you will. This is where your not too deep or not too shallow but the conditions are just right for squidding. But be warned if you pull your tackle from the depths too quickly it will surely upset the squid causing it to expel air in quite a noisy fashon. Laughing Laughing

I have discovered that when a plug has a slight bend in its back the squid seem to want to hold on to it longer.
I must warn you."BEWARE" of the jackhammer it is a move that many think works but it is more like a siezure(it doesnt give a realistic or great visual presentation) that usually lacks control and ends with a limp squid jig.If the jig goes limp you have to wait 10-20 minutes for it to gain enough pop to catch more squid.

yeahhhhhhhhh so anywayyyyyyyyy i went to newport on tuesday night and fished the GI causeway from 7pm til 2:30am. Only 15 squid to show for my efforts. The run is seriously screwed up this year. I didn't see a single pod of squid more than 20 deep if that and they were very finicky. It didn't help that mackeral and herring were also present and busting up the schools before I could land any of em. W/ the stripers and blues already moving it, this years squid run does not look promising. I'll probably go one more time so i'll keep you highly interested squidders posted. LOL
