Hit the lower CT River out of Saybrook for a few hours from about 5:30 until 8. Weather was clear, cool and breezy. I drifted the shoreline flats outside the railroad bridge near the mouth of the river. Most of the action was bluefish today,...I ended up with 5 blues and one striper that was just short of a keeper. Great day to be out on the water!! Here's the best ones of the day! Very Happy

You know it's a secret,...but maybe you can get a clue from this! Laughing Laughing
ps: It took me a while of fishing with these things before I caught on,..but you don't set the hook with them (like when fishing for regular bass..)! The fish will very often just whack it without eating it and if you jerk at that point,..you will just pull the bait away and they will lose interest! You really have to wait until the fish eat them and put a bend in the rod themselves before you jerk back! Wink

Thanks for the secret tip! Very Happy Nice looking fish. The bad thing about hooking a bluefish is those things will bleed all over your boat big time if hooked in the wrong spot.

You should be held in front of a firing squad for taking pictures of mako bait that weighs less then 15lbs.
Don`t quote me on this but i believe the state of CT passed a law that u must be flogged by your boat mate if you are over 21 taking pictures of junkfish. If you are under 12 you can take a picture of anyfish.

Whew,...I never knew that! Guess I'm lucky that I was alone in the boat so there was no one to flog me! Razz Laughing Laughing
