5.6, 6, 6.6, 7?

I'm in the market for getting a ugly stik lite and i cant really tell what i need.
The 5.6 rod is a light and holds 4-8 lb line- so does that mean that rod is really ment to catch a 4-8 lb fish? i cant see catching fish bigger than 8 lbs around here to often, so is that the size i should get?

or should i get a medium 6.6 holds 6-15 lbs line

im mostly going for bass or perch or what ever is really biting in the surrounding lakes. how do i tell what size i need?

I have an Ugly Stick lite 6'6" med heavy and LOVE it.... I highly recommend it. I have it setup with my spinning reel with 14lb braid...does great for anything from trout to bass. A+ rod

k sounds good! i picked up a 6.6 medium anyway before i wrote this but i wasnt sure. I thought maybe the 7 or maybe the 6 med light? well im glad i picked at a good cheap rod. I matched it up with a shimano reel sienna 2500 (at least for now). That set up seems like an all arounder for ct. I also got some fire line crystal 10 lb.

im glad you like the ugly stik - i always hear great things about them.

g - now where to fish tomorrow ?

i need a boat!
