I've been fishing these frogs for a while and I always read about the guys out west using them to "walk the dog" over open water. I have never been able to do it no matter what length I trimmed the legs to,..then in the last issue of Bassmaster Mag,..it was indicated that the legs needed to be trimmed a little but also thinned down to just 10 strands or so! Well i immediately plucked most of the strands outta mine and ran down to my neighborhood pond yestarday evening,..in between some nasty thunderstorms,..
First cast,...twitch, twitch, twitch,...what do you know it WALKS!!
Then twitch, twitch BAM!!! Very Happy A chunky little bass about 2 lbs nailed it!

Only stayed about 10 minutes and had one more bump it without really committing,.. before it started to pour again. But I sure can't wait to throw my "walking-frogs" some more now!! Wink

If you cut one leg about an inch shorter than the other helps too.

all it takes is some practice. I've used them enough to make it walk, and make it "swim"...by swim I mean it dives a little under the surface with every twitch.

There is no lure on the planet I have put more time into throwing....
