Lake conditions were as follows:

Water temps 67 to 70 degrees
water severly stained floating algae and about 1.5 foot visability underneath
Air temp 50 degrees in am, 80 degrees in afternoon
Blue bird skies, with no or very light wind

1st place: Jim S. (Flippy) and partner with 12lbs. 10 oz., anchored by a 4-11 lunker
2nd place: Mike and Rich with 5lbs. 15oz.
3rd place: Myself and my son Steven with 5lbs. 13 oz.

With exception of the first place finishers 2 4lb. fish, it was the day of the Rat. All cookie cutter 12 to 13 inch fish caught for the most part. Some guys caught them early some caught them late, we caught ours all day, but had a 2 hour period when we went fishless from 10am to noon. The winning bag was caught on brush hogs, we cauht ours on tubes and senkos. Most fish caught were relating to weeds deep and shallow, a few fish caught on docks, but not enough to run a dock pattern and do well. Plenty of shorts were caught, and a couple of pike and pickeral too. All boats caught fish, but only 4 boats had limits I believe. All in all not a terrible day for Beseck, but I have seen much better bags come from there. Congrats to the winners on a tough day of culling through 12 inch rats to gain ounces.

Pointing dog,

Let me refresh your memory...........

You caught 2 fish for about 3 lbs, and struggled until noon. Sad Sad

You have been replaced!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

My new parntner put 6 fish in the boat for about 6 pounds, caught 2 of our first 4 fish, and continued to catch them all day. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

We'll see if you can redeem yourself at Mansfield Hollow? or Bashan?

Yes, we have a love / hate relationship.

I love to catch fish, and he hates me for it.

or

I love it when he catches fish, but I hate to wait all day for it to happen.

Very Happy

Feast or famine. Usually it only takes one 4lber to seal the deal there. Kudos to them on getting 2! BTW- you guys should do a fall T or early spring T there. Much more consistant 10-12lb bags. Less rats.

This was our fall tourney there. We usually only fish there once a year, either early or late, to avoid the boat and jet ski traffic. The small parking area is also a problem during the summer, with too many pleasure boats and jet skis to be running a 10 boat tourney there too.

I agree the fall feed was not on, and the fish were still in their summer pattern. What I meant was for the club, we only have 3 tournaments left this season, and the first day of Fall was Monday the 22nd. I have seen some huge bags come from here before, during, and after the spawn. We used to fish Beseck on fathers day every year, but stopped a couple of years ago, due to being too crowded at the ramp, in the parking area, and too much boat traffic.

It would not be worth it for you to fish our club now, we have a $50 per boat membership dues per year, and with only 3 tourney's left, that would be your call. The dues go towards plaque's and banquet at the end of the season, it is a points driven system, and lunker for the year also gets a plaque.
