Yes this is the truth I am almost positive. You will need a license by June 15 to fishing any ct ocean water. I could not find it on the dep website but I have some friends that fish the ocean almost everyday and they told me.

License cost should be $10 for resident $15 for non-res.

If anyone has heard this please post to confirm...

I saw it on the news the other night. This will go into effect if Rell passes the bill.

This is true. It will be $10 to fish in the salt. $70 fine if you're caught without it.

this is ridiculous I dont fish the salt but this still erks me since when do they own water to tax us to use it ,also you think a dad with 3-4 kids will take the family fishing if when he gets to the bait shop and finds out it will be 60 bucks in licensing for the fam, kids will not learn this great hobby, also even if the dad forks over the cash how much will he now spend on bait and rods from the shop owner not much which will hurt the bait shop and the state would have gotten sales tax from the purchase anyway.Taxes have gotten out of hand, they wack half my paycheck, then a buy a candy bar i get whacked, gas, house, car, now fishing the salt?I worked for DEP for a few years you think i would ticket a dad teaching a kid to fish hell no,thats why I left

I will unhappily pay the 10 bucks but what fucking really pisses me off is the party boats that come over from New York and fluke and blackfish the Connecticut waters. The DEP better ticket those boats and stop them from pillaging the local waters. They hammer the Fluke and Blackfish here. Is the DEP going to even stop those boats and write each and every person on those boats a ticket. I highly doubt it.
First and foremost non resident liscences should be on par with every other state, Other states rape non residents and in Ct. they charge a few bucks more or there abouts.

I will gladly pay 100 dollars a year for my liscences if i new the money was going back into the hunting and fishing resources.
