Decided to head to bashan for the first time this year. Got on the water around 5:15 and there were already a few guys fishing. Fished topwater for a little while with a couple 12 inchers then switched to drop shotting withh most of the fish coming on that technique. All caught in 8 to 15 feet of water over boulders and weeds. Water temp was right about 70*. I could not find any size in any of the bass i caught only small ones from 8 to 15 inches. I think the bigger females are done with spawning and have moved out into deeper water although i could not locate them. Left at about 12 to go hang around with the family.

i had my best day so far this year there. a few weeks ago i went there around 12:30 and stayed until 6. my best 5 went close to 20lbs. all largie mouths 5lb12oz 4lb9oz and the rest in the 2.5-3.5lb range. it was a great day for me, everyone else said that they barely got a hit but i was hammering them for nearly 6 hours.
ive fished the lake 3 times this year and only got 1 smallie 3.5 or so everything else was largies.
i love the lake but hate fishing it because i get upset when i see trash in the lake especially since it is so clear

Nice job Greg, at least you got some even if they are not the size you got at Bantam. That must be another boat you got there cause that is definitely not your Ranger! Very Happy

I too have a 12 footer with a 6hp Merc. Great for fishing skinny water where I wouldn't dare put in my 21' Skeeter.
