				| Did an Ice Fishing Tournament on Coventry Lake today. Heard a rumor that some guy across from where we were set up caught a big walleye. Went over there with my buddy to see the fish. What a beast. I weighed it for the guy...11.2 lbs and it was 28 inches long. Biggest walleye i've ever seen...a real monster. The girth was huge...like a football. | |

				| That must've been some fat Walleye because the 28" incher I caught was just under 8 lbs. Man that is the best tasting fish in fresh water I'll bet it made quit a few meals!!! _________________

				| Never cooked one up but I've heard they are a great table fish. Funny thing was that this guy was not in the tournament, which he easily would have won. He was just out there fishing having a great time so I guess that makes him a winner anyway. | |

				| I didnt know Walleye got that Big... Anywhere !! YIKERS. I dont know if my tip up could hold up to a fish that big.
AS SWEET as that fish is... willing to wager about a pound or more is a perch or something bulging its belly.
REGARDLESS... that takes NOTHING away from his AWESOME CATCH ! !!

 Congrats to that dude!!

				| That explains why the bass fishing has gone down hill over the past 6 years at Coventry Lake! The non native Walleye population, stocked by the DEP, is thriving and competing for the same forage base.
Let's put northern pike in there too, and stunt every species. NOT!!!!!

				| The DEP is thinking about puttin walleye in East Twin lake as well. If only we could stock 4 and 5 pound largemouth bass into lakes. | |

				| MY Big "Eye" came from a lake that starts with a C... but it wasnt Coventry.
It was Chibougamou Lac Obotagamou. Now THAT place is where ya gotta go to Catch Walleyes beyond your wildest dreams.

IF anyone wants to venture north to that spot for a week... Im ALL ABOUT it. Havent been up there in a few, and WAY overdue.
