I drive through Hartford every day to and from work north of Hartford. Both the launches and parking areas are under water. The water is 3/4 of the way up the doors on the new building at the Riverside Park launch. The East Hartford launch and parking area are well under water too. The wall at the trash plant is gone, usually at least 12 feet is visable above the water line.

Hi Guys!

Yes! It's always an amazing sight to see how high the rivers can flood and run at this time of year.
But it has been doing this for hundreds of years.

What is really spectacular is to be at Niagra Falls when the ice breaks up and to watch ice floes the size of cars and small houses go over the falls and crash to the bottom of the falls.
NOW that's awsome...Plus the sound is deafning Exclamation

I just took a ride over to the Wethersfield Cove at lunch time and the entire parking lot for the boat launch is under a few feet of water and rising.

Apparently a kayaker from NH went fishing in the CT River either end of last week or over the weekend and did not make it back. Authorities found his upside down yak down river and what was once a rescue effort has turned into a recovery mission. Crying or Very sad Gotta respect the river and know your limits!

That makes me nervous, considering I just got a yak and the river is my favorite fishery... Sad
