				| I hooked into some large bass tonight at Winchester . The very first bass I lost at the boat had some weight and shoulders as the splashes sounded like carp. The second bass I landed and went 5 pounds 3 ounces
The third bass I lost again at the boat trying to net it probaly around 4.5 pounds. The last bass that I caught was a true monster and my second biggest bass of my life bounced around on the scale from 6 pounds 14 ounces to 7 pounds 2 ounces then finally settled at 7 pounds 1 ounce and almost 23.5 inches long.

All the bass came on a small black hula popper over a big weedbed that comes up to just underneath the water surface. Including a 2 pounder I caught before sundown I could of had a bag of 21 plus pounds for 5 if I had landed the two bass I lost at the boat.

				| Nice fish! I've never been to Winchester, but I'm thinking of going there for some pike. I've heard about the stumps just below the surface and I was wondering how bad it really is. Are they just along the shoreline or are they everywhere? Is it worth a trip from Enfield? Any info would be great. | |

				| Nice job at Winchester. That place usually fishes tough during the day in summer. I see now it is because they are all feeding up at night.
Yes the stumps below the waters surface are everywhere, so be very careful or you will be buying a new prop and lower unit.
