Well it's time for the 4th annual United Way Fishing Derby 9/18/10. It will be at Haddam Meadows Boat Launch. It will run from 6 AM or whenever you show up until 2 PM. Prizes for Bass, Northern Pike and Other species catagory. NO cash payouts. 100 % of the entry fee goes to the United Way. Entry fee is $10.00 per person and the entry deadline for entering is 9/10/10. We will have a small pot luck picnic afterwards. I have run this for 4 years now. If you'd like to know more please e-mail me at gmmartin2006@sbcglobal.net or by phone at 860-951-6713. No livewells needed. Thank you.

Jerry,

Questions.

Age limit? this looks to be good for me and my 14yo son.

No Live wells? So you want the fish return to the launch dead?

Ron, i'm LMAO......

It is probably a cell phone picture of a fish laying next to a ruler deal. Or a cell picture of the fish on a hand held scale with weight showing.

The only permit listed is for Pratt & whitney for 10 boats?

Is that permit yours Jerry?

Is that what you expect at this event only 10 boats?

What are the prizes? Gift Cards, Rods, reels, tackle etc.?

Just curious.........I may be able to attend this event..........

I pulled the permit and what we do is take a picture near a ruler. We have 3 trophies and gift cards and door prizes. All the money goes to the united way. No real age limit. If you want to fish this please get a hold of me and I will email you the forms/ waiver for this event. Kids are welcome as long as they are with an adult.

Thanks Jerry, I'll let you know if my schedule will allow it.

Can we just show up to pay and sign papers at the launch that morning, or is this event pre -register only?

No the cutoof date for entry is 9/10/10. People launch at their leisure. Not going to sit at the ramp waiting for people etc. Send me a pm with your reg email and I can send you the forms rules etc. Plus hard to also run a potluck with last minute folks in the mix.

Skeeter Ron and MR Slimecoat I sent the info to your email listed on this site. Right now we have trophies, lures, Cabelas gift cards hopefully and door prizes. Would be nice to see some of the faces from this site there. Like mentioned earlier 100% of the entry fee goes to the united way and if youi write a check you can write it off.
