. . .but the DEP guy whom TurtleKiss and I met at Burr Pond yesterday told us that one of his buddies has been getting smallies, largies and pike with crankbaits up there this summer.

Have you been up there? Is there an admission fee? Is it a nice place to paddle?

Phil, Colebrook is a very nice place to paddle and fish. Plenty of smallies and some largemouth but predominantly smallies and trout. There is a free parking lot and launch near the dam and you can peddle your way up the river toward the Mass side. Not much for cover but an abundance of rocks and boulders to fish at and the water is very clean and clear.

I might take my daughter up there for an exploratory cruise on Friday. Now that I finally got my car wired, I'm dying to try towing my boat with it.
