From the Hartford Courant at courant.com:

When I was up at Lake Champlain, Cap'n Mick told me that zebra mussels had established themselves in the lake. He said that he hadn't noticed any detrimental effects from the mussels on the fishery, although he did think that the water in the lake is clearer now than it has ever been. But he didn't know whether the decrease in plankton or algae would end up causing problems in the future.
