Hit the salmon river today in haddam and saw lots of "stuff" floating by.Water looked really "crappy" and on top of it all i am realling my spinnerbait across a flat and....WHAM A great hit ,set the hook see a bit of thrashing ,then nothing but weight...at this point i am thinking holy crap this a big fish...i get it close to the boat and there it was...A GIANT SNAPPING TURTLE At least 25 pounds maybe bigger.Cut the line as close to the bait as possible at set her free. Never a dull moment and a first for me.
