they spawn every year in the longmeadow cove on the ct river in April, it is right on the state line so you may need a mass lic.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I found out that you can buy MA fishing and hunting licenses online:

https://www.ma.wildlifelicense.com/Customer/InternetCustomerSearch

I printed out my freshwater fishing license. It cost $40.17:

Non-Resident (Citizen/Alien) Fishing $32.50
Wildlands Stamp, non-resident $ 5.00
Convenience Fee $ 2.67

The Wildlands Stamp is a required donation to the state's wildlife preservation fund.

Oh, and thanks Gary p. Ian, Kira and I talked about targeting bowfin while we were ice fishing on Breakneck Pond. I decided to put catching a bowfin on my list of CT fishing goals for 2011, along with catching a six pound or better largemouth bass (well, better than my five pound, two ounce personal best, at least), catching a limit of walleye and catching a keeper northern pike. Oops, I think that I should have started a different thread for a discussion about 2011 CT fishing goals. Sorry, again. Lunker Cove.

Hey, Billy,

Whenever you can deliver 5+ inches of solid ice, sunny skies, air temperatures of 40+ and no wind like metalfish does, I'm in. Very Happy I just came in from doing a little bit of shoveling. The freezing rain just started to fall out here in Avon. Whenever we get a break in the weather, just say where. I got a new ice fishing hat from an Army surplus store when we were out in Boston this weekend and am dying to try it out.

Phil

Should I include the 12 inches of slush on top? Razz
