				| As bad as it sounds to say, a whistle nor screams can be heard if no one is around to hear them.
If a random person hears a whistle I doubt they will think man over board or think much at all.

I am not saying its not a bad idea to carry a whistle or two but I DO believe that always having a partner on the boat or along side of you (in their own kayak) is the best way to stay safe.

 BESIDES A PDF of course

I look at a PDF almost as I would a seat belt

				| Hi phs!
Bottom line a whistle (sound appliance) is a required safety item by Federal Law.

 Has been for decades

				| Not all of us obey the law muhahaha
 LoL I understand that.

I am just saying a PDF / Friend could help save your life over a whistle.

Though a friend with a pdf using a whistle and yelling for help would be very beneficial.

While I respect and value your experience and expertise, I also expect courtesy from you. I enjoy discussions, not pissing matches.

				| Kira!
I do agree fully with Phil on that!
Our friendship is starting to look more and more like "Grumpy Old Men!"

				| Luckily, my PFD came equipped with a blaze orange whistle on a lanyard in the pocket. _________________
