You can catch lots of smallmouths on the rock flats, which make up most of the shoreline, but most are not too big. My best luck had been fishing weeds for LMB. The cove where the bridge is has a nice weedbed, and from the boat storage area go straight across to the other shore and take a right. You will find a feeder stream with lots of emergent bushes. That's the best spot on the lake in my opinion. There is also a nice weedbed and dropoff on the far side of the point after the stream.

FYI - Boats have to go through a quarantine process to prevent the spreading of invasive plants and animals, so don't plan on boating there for the weekend.

If you are a resident of Vernon, Tolland, mabey Ellington (can't remember) you can use one of their canoes for free. I caught a trout there one time while drifting thru the middle of the lake w/ a worm on the bottom, but I don't think they stock it.
