I'm mad that the city decided to put 2 speed tables on my street and I keep forgetting about the first one.

What's a "speed table"? Is that like a big speed bump? In Farmington, they have speed humps. On the roads. Laughing

And, no, nobody slows down for them.

I've seen signs in Hartford that call the "humps," "tables." The sign calls them "bumps."
Phil, please correct my punctuation.

Phil, I wouldn't "Speed Hump" in the road if I were you...you might get arrested.

Seriously, a speed hump is not the same as a speed table. A speed table has a slope on each side and a flat spot in the center. A speed hump (bump) is rounded and doesn't have the flat section in the middle. There are a few speed tables on Prospect St in Hartford and if you forget to slow down for it you are in trouble.

The speed humps in Farmington are four feet wide.

Our electrical power has been out for almost two hours, now. I'm still more bored than mad, though.

I'm mad that you have to work each day when I don't, too, RobO. Very Happy I feel for you, Chaka Khan.

I'm mad because these humps are trying to murder my truck. I always have to pull over and check for damage/missing stuff because the boat, oars and anchor go into orbit at 20mph. It's like hitting a curb. I know that the people who live next to these things are enjoying their new source of entertainment.

Derek, the Prospect St. tables are wider and flatter than what I have here. That's where I first encountered them, and that's the reason I'm calling mine "tables" too. They definitely aren't "bumps" like the sign will have you believe...my suspension handles old-school speed bumps quite well, but these things are guaranteed to launch your vehicle if you don't slow to a crawl. Phil's description of Farmington's "humps" sounds close...maybe 4 ft wide, flat on top, unnecessarily steep incline on each side, way too much freaking height.

Temporarily done being mad; going fishing now.
