Couldn't pass up the fishy weather this evening, so I hit Rogers for a couple of hours from about 6 -7:30. Light rain on and off with a moderate breeze. Fished the windy banks and points for quite a while without a bite, alternating between a jig, my shallow swimbait and a Mattlures trout! Continued into a sheltered area and got pounded on the Mattlures by something that felt very solid,..but it came unbuttoned after a second or two! Sad
Fished the swimabit for a while longer without a bite,..then headed to some shallow weedy areas and put everything away except the jig rod. Picked up a 2-lber and then another that went 2.5 on the outside edges of lilypads. Had a third one that looked about 2.5 but it came unbuttoned at boatside and then wrapped up the evening with this guy that went 4 lbs even! Very Happy

Mark,

You always do pretty good on Rodgers Lake, You would think by now the Bass would know your boat an avoid you..

You are a fishing GOD!..

Nice job buddy.

LOL,..funny you should say that, because I struck out at my usual spots and only got on some fish when I tried an area that I never usually go to, just to escape the wind! Razz Laughing

Rogers is a pretty good lake,..but usually only on days like that, with nasty weather so there's no jet-skis and power-boats constantly zooming around! Wink

Chumslick, the key word Mark said is he put everything away except the jig rod! Just about everyone who fishes for bass knows that the best chances of getting a lunker is to use a jig'n'pig and fish sloooow. I go fishing with Mark quite often and I am definitely a believer in the jig'n'pig. That is one method you should try and learn very well if your not already doing so.
