				|
 |
				| Tuesday afternoon I headed over to a different small pond than the one I usually hit and fished it from 1:45pm til 6:20pm.
Saw perch cruising the shore and tried throwing a 1/16oz white maribu. Had 1 grab it while doing a constant light twitching retrieve, but had no luck while bouncing it in front of them. They'd look at it but not hit it.

I then decided to switch over to a 2" double rigged soft plastic worm. That had the bluegills going crazy! Stuck with a slow gliding walk the dog retrieve just under the surface. Lots of bluegills were following and hit it but could only get 1 to hit the hook.

But then, while still doing that retrieve, I feel a stiff hard hit after seeing a fish come shooting out of nowhere. I set the hook and pretty soon a fish comes leaping out of the water! I landed a trophy 13 ounce pumpkinseed!

I had 1 more pumpkinseed the same size grab the hook but lost it on the jump. Also had perch looking at it, landed a 1 pound largemouth, and missed out on a pickerel.

When I got home, before filleting the perch and pumpkinseed, I measured the pumpkinseed. 9" length by 9" girth!

My original PB pumpkinseed was caught years ago and was close to or possibly a new CT record. That one was released into the pond I caught it at.

				| You can tell that a pumpkinseed is BIG when you can lip it. Nice fish! _________________
