Anyone know if there is a website that has the stocking info on it? I'd like to know how many and what kind of trout they stocked in Ball Pond.

Hi,

DEEP has maps on their web site where they stock, .....But not when or which type trout or how many for 2012.

You can't get the numbers for 2012, but you can review the 2011 stocking report as guide. It doesn't change that much I would suspect.

Here is a link to the 2011 report: http://www.ct.gov/dep/lib/dep/fishing/general_information/fishdistributionreport.pdf

Any reports on if the DEEP was limited on stocking rivers due to water levels?

I read in the Danbury Newspaper that they stocked the lakes and ponds more than the rivers and streams. Thats good. I like fishing ponds better anyways.

Michael, most rivers were stocked earlier and before the recent extreme water level drops. The last minute stockings before opening day have taken a hit on the rivers though. There was a brief article in the courant http://www.courant.com/health/connecticut/hc-connecticut-lack-of-rainfall-0419-20120419,0,3673099.story and they do mention some places being to low to receive fish so the fish were stocked elsewhere.

Hi,

Low water is an understatement -> More like bone dry! Shocked

Went up to Mill River, Massachusetts yesterday to get my Mass. Lic.
Awful -> just plain Awful!
All the creeks and streams I passed along the way where nothing but trickles.

After getting my Lic. -> Stopped at York Pond to fish and caught 2 nice fat Rainbows (14" each) -> Tonights supper! Thumbs Up

Boat ramp there and also at Woodcreek, Ct. -> and saw where the water was 1-2 ft. below the end of the ramps.
Not Good! thumbs down

Also took a ride a few days ago to Falls Village, Ct -> Water falls -> What water falls????? -> Rocks were Bone Dry! Crying or Very sad

National Weather Service and Ct. have issued a sever drought situation!

The 2 days of rain predicted for this coming weekend won't do much to relive the problem.

Lakes and ponds are going to get pounded come tomorrow -> No where else to fish! Rolling Eyes

Glad I got my Mass. lic. -> Least it gives me other options just across the border to fish.
